After the Stampede on Saturday afternoon, I flew from Calgary to Halifax and arrived there in the early morning. Bruce picked me up and i spend another 2 days at his home before I got on the plane again. This time the destination was Amsterdam, but not before i spend 12 hours on the beautiful island, Iceland. I rented a car at the airport and went to the capital, Reykjavik. It wasn't to exciting there so I continued and drove through the amazing landscapes. In the end i was running out of time, but i really wanted to see the Geysers. They were 2 hours away from the airport, so since i had to board my plane at 4 in the afternoon, I knew I didn't have much time at the Geysers as it was allready 1.50 when I arrived. After taking some photo's quickly, I had to hurry back and broke alot of speed limits and other laws. I just barely made it. But it was worth the trouble because the Geysers are really something special! After no sleep for 2 days i fell asleep during takeoff and arrived back home in the late evening. It was nice to sleep in my own bed again but i certainly will miss the country Canada and all the people i've met!

The weather wasn't that good, but that made the scenery even more epic.

The roads in Iceland. Mostly tiny cars. Quite a change when coming from Canada!

A monument in Reykjavik in remembrance of the Viking time

Horses and sheep, about the only animals on Iceland i've seen.

Or it must have been this animal shaped in stone (Or am I the only one who sees it?)

Another shape in the stone, this time a human head.

With the temperatures on Iceland you can use a hat and a blanket.

Although it wasn't really busy on the roads, there were always plenty of people on the tourist hotspots.

One of the Geysers starting to errupt

Flower, flowers

The constant steam containing sulfur, coming off the Geyser, smells real bad

Doesn't matter in what country you are, there will always be Japanese..

Geyser

Canyon

Eventhough the bad smell, the sulfur not being to healthy and getting wet, people still stand close to the Geyser.

Many, many years ago the people of Iceland held a yearly market in this sort of a canyon.
